SUMMARY: Loading, unloading, and distributing cargo and mail on board aircraft.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Core duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Handling of cargo shipment to and from warehouse, also to and from aircraft.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
COMPETENCIES: To perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following competencies:
Acceptance and handling of air mail from local AMF (Air Mail Facility) or post office. Operation of all GSE (Ground Service Equipment). Provide protection for all cargo in Company custody from pilferage and weather. Comply with GSE preventative maintenance and washing to include garbage removal from equipment. Assist in preparing forms connected with the handling of cargo transfer manifest, airmail transfer forms and all other records as required. COMAT pickup and delivery. Properly securing cargo by tie-downs to eliminate shifting during flight or ground operations.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: High School Diploma or G.E.D.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively with customers and employees.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10’s and 100’s.
REASONING ABILITY: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
COMPUTER SKILLS: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have general knowledge of Database software; Internet software; Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software.
